Interviewer: Not long ago you and Eunhyuk had duet performances. A special stage for only the 2 of you, how does it feel?
DH: very glad. Originally, Oppa Oppa was a song for our concert, because we wanted an opportunity to try disco style. The response was great, so we did promoting performances on music shows for our fans, even if it was just for one month.
Interviewer: A lot of guys like to be called “Oppa”, is it the same for you too?
DH: Before it was ok, recently I love it! Haha!
Interviewer: You and Siwon’s drama Skip Beat was a hot topic among fans. Your character was very similar to the original in the comic book. We saw a charm of yours that we have never seen before.
DH: I spent a lot of time thinking, just to be as similar to the original character as possible. I dyed my hair, and had lots of eyeliner. I didn’t like this style before, but when I saw the episodes I thought it wasn’t a bad look at all. If I have an acting opportunity in Korea, I want to show a different side of me as well.
Interview: While you were filming “It’s OK, Daddy’s girl”, you said you wanted to film more dramas. Is it as interesting as you thought it would be?
DH: It would be so interesting, if it wasn’t cold like today. (laughs) I want to continue to act. Maybe a movie in Korea, or in any other Asian countries. To be honest, I still feel unnatural when taking pictures. I am more comfortable when filming.
Interviewer: You have been to many countries to work, now you are Ok with working with foreigners. Right?
DH: Yes. Concert or CF filming, we often end up working with the same people again, so I know them. Same with hotels.
Interviewer: In recent overseas activities, which ones you remember the most?
DH: From Feb 2nd to 5th, we had 4 concerts in Taiwan. We heard that we were the first foreign artist to hold 4 consecutive concerts at the Taipei Arena. And even though we didn’t have any activities in Japan, but we performed in front of 80000 people in Osaka Kyocera Dome. We were proud of ourselves, and please look forward to SS4 in Tokyo Dome in May.
Interviewer: Last year SJ went outside of Asia and held concerts in New York and Paris. As the center of the Hallyu wave, how do you feel?
DH: I think the popularity of KPOP will be even greater. Many KPOP singers will debut in other countries. I feel surprised and amazed when I saw the flash mobs from oversea fans. Chile, Australia, and a lot more, sorry it’s just too long to list all the places.
Interviewer: Your twitter reached a million fans, right?
DH: Other than albums and promotional performances, there aren’t a lot of things we can do for our fans. I want to show our fans our daily life, so I often update my twitter.
Interviewer: As the stage and view got bigger (a metaphor for SJ’s popularity expanding), are your wishes and goals also getting bigger?
DH: Honestly, if there were no military service, I want to travel around the world. Even if there were only 100 fans, I still want to go and meet them. I wish we get 1 year which we do nothing else, but having concerts around the world.
Interviewer: For real? Are concerts not tiring at all for you?
DH: It is very tiring indeed, but I forget about it onstage. Our 4 days in Taiwan, we have a 4-5 hour concert every day. Even though we question ourselves, the moment we go on the stage, it feels like our members combined together. It is very fun when we do variety moments and fan services, and fans are waving their glow sticks and have different fan projects. That makes us feel like moving.
Interviewer: This January, you guys won 4 awards at Golden Disk, the biggest winner at this year’s GDA. This must feel special.
DH: We have different thoughts and feelings at every award show. We thought about the long and hard way we came, all the memories with our members, and we often cry. Our promise is “Become an artist that win awards next year as well, and achieve records that only Super Junior can achieve.”
Interviewer: When you think about trainee and debut time, do you feel like it was a long time ago?
DH: No, it’s still vivid, like yesterday. Time goes by fast. No matter where we go, Kyuhyun will record us with his camera. All the memories are so interesting, how we play together offstage, skiing, eating barbeque, falling into water…We remember when we see the videos he recorded.
Interviewer: You must feel satisfied, watching the members having fun on and off stage.
DH: Our members already know to be well prepared. When on variety shows, even though our seniors might say “You guys talk way too much, enough is enough”, but hyungs are really hardworking, and they received a lot of recognitions from our seniors. Leeteuk-hyung often says, you cannot defeat a person who is very observant and well prepared. Therefore, I prepare my best for shows.
Interviewer: In We Got Married, you become a couple through blind dates. It felt like you were really shy and nervous. Were you really feeling like that?
DH: Yes, that was not acting. I feel embarrassed because it was my first blind date.
Interview: It felt like you were attracted to a very feminine lady like Son Eunseo.
DH: I always liked a feminine lady. Even though it hasn’t aired yet, we actually went on another date, it was fun to film. I am the type who is very quiet in shows, Miss Eunseo is very quiet too, but she will try and come up with topics to talk with me.
Interviewer: Some rumors say you guys are already a regular couple on WGM, is that true?
DH: It’s not decided yet. WGM is a show I wanted to do for a long time, compared to other variety shows, this one fits me more. I don’t need acting, just do the things I want, and I can enjoy it comfortably. Some people may like it, some may not.
Interviewer: You also participated in As One’s new comeback song “Only U”, in both lyrics writing and singing. The lyrics were really sweet.
DH: I have a good relationship with the noonas in As One, so it’s very natural in collaborations. I write songs in my spare time, this is one of them (that I wrote before). When I am in my dorm or on the plane, I will write songs.
Interviewer: You have received so much love from the fans, and acted in dramas you wanted to film. Is there anything else that you want?
DH: How about Super Junior leading the world of TV shows? When I am on TV shows that Leeteuk-hyung was an MC, he took care of me, giving me looks and expressions, telling me what I am supposed to do. I want to be a person like him, giving members help and advices, but maybe in other areas, not hosting.
Interviewer: Apparently Super Junior’s average age is 27.5 years old? You guys are like old idols.
DH: My friends all look like ajussis now, but hyungs are not at all! Can you believe Sungmin-hyung is 28 already? He looks like he’s 23! Even though I am 27, I don’t think I am old. Now I still want to be a dongsaeng that needs his hyungs! (never grow up) I want to have enough fun.
Interviewer: Off the stage, as a 27 year old man, do you have a good plan for your life?
Donghae: I am not sure. First I want to be in love. Maybe I joined WGM because of this. But then I need to prepare things, and find a house, so much things to worry. But then I only had this thought since last year. When the pressure is too much, I will just say to myself “Don’t think anymore, just live as I please.”
Interviewer: Then what else do you want to do this year?
DH: First, Super show 4 will have a good finish, and more dramas or movies. And, send Leeteuk-hyung to the army! HAHA

Ranking of dancers in Super Junior: Eunhyuk, Shindong, Donghae and Sungmin

Ranking of dancers in Super Junior members was revealed through Mnet’s musician interview program ‘MIC’.
When asked ‘If Kyuhyun, you were to form a unit group, what kind of unit group would it be?’ and Kyuhyun said, ‘Because I am 5th best dancer in the group, I want to form a group that is more performance focused.’ He also added confidently, ‘Eunhyuk would be best and then Donghae, Shindong and Sungmin. 5th used to be Leeteuk, but seeing how he is doing these days, I am 5th.’
Meanwhile, Leeteuk revealed a side story of the ownership of Super Junior’s unique greeting ‘We are Super Junior’. Leeteuk said, ‘Boom allowed us to use this greeting. This deal was formed through a fair trade. He gives Super Junior the greeting and I have to sacrifice myself for the members as a student of the Boom Academy.’
Also, he revealed an episode that happened because the group had a lot of members.
Shindong remembered, ‘I went to a bathroom of a restaurant in Junjoo, and the van left without me. I tried to run after it, but some fans that were there followed me and started to run with me. In the end, I was able to catch up to the van and ever since then, the managers started to head count every time they started the van.’
When leader Leeteuk was asked of his thoughts on ‘Idol’, he answered, ‘An Idol is an idol of the fans and great singers such as Jo Youngpil is still an idol of the fans. I want to be an idol to those who love us even through the ages.’ Leeteuk also hinted the success of Super Junior by saying ‘In 2012, surprising things will happen to Super Junior.’ Leeteuk also added, ‘Personally, my goal is to work and be active until my body breaks and then enlist without any regrets.’

The way of greeting “We are Super~ Junior!” is actully Boom’s, but he gave us the copyright of that greeting.

LT: There will be unexpected and surprised event will held in 2012. Personally, I will do my best for Super Junior’s activities before entering the army.

Q : If Kyuhyun make a new unit, what kind of unit are you looking for?
KH : My dancing is on 5th of Super Junior, I want to make a unit with lots of performances. Eunhyuk is 1st, Donghae is 2nd, Shindong is 3rd, and Sungmin’s dancing is 4th.

In the past, during Shindong went to toilet, SJ’s van is already started to leave. So he ran for catch vans, and some fans also ran. Fortunately he could get on the van. After this happening, managers are always checking the counts of members before driving.

After the 26th Golden Disk Awards that were held in Osaka, Japan earlier in the month, IlganSportscaught up with Super Junior to discuss their second ‘Daesang‘ they received, their second after previously winning the award back in 2009.
IlganSports shared the interview with the public on January 26th, check out the interview with the members below!

▶Leeteuk

-Congratulations on winning ‘Daesang’ for your album.
“Thank You. I really can’t believe that we have won two Daesang to date at the Golden Disk Awards, it really does feel like I’m dreaming. We’re so thankful to have won four awards. We know that is only possible because of all our ELFs, and our beloved fans all over the world.”
-Your performance was really amazing tonight.
“Actually, we started last year’s world tour right here (Osaka Kyocera Dome). We saw that a lot of our fans who came to that last year were here for us now. We were so touched and excited that I think we were able to put on a better performance. There was also the fact that we were performing at the Golden Disk Awards, and that carried a lot of weight.”
-How do you feel about IlganSports coining you the next Kang Ho Dong?
“I saw the article, and of course I was excited. Part of me feels like it’s unmerited, while I also feel a new sense of responsibility. Just so thankful.”
-Seems like you’ve found your place on shows like ‘Star King’ and ‘Strong Heart’.
“It’s a relief. To be honest, it was really bad when Ho Dong hyung left and the ratings were at an all-time low. There was also talk about changing the MCs and whatnot. So Boom hyung and I decided that we needed to work harder, and things seem to be much better on set now.”
-You have to enlist in the military this year.
“Yes, it’s true. I need to go this year. I think maybe around the fall time. I want to do as much as possible before then. Maybe that’s why, but, I truly value everything I do and everything around me.”
-What are your dreams and goals for the future?
“I would like to plant Super Junior schools all over the world.”

▶Choi Siwon

-This reminds us of our interview with you back in 2009, when you guys also won the ‘Daesang’ for your album.
“Yes, I remember. We received the Daesang back then and you interviewed us at an eatery in Apgujeong. Can’t believe that time has passed so quickly already. I think Super Junior began receiving more love and support after we won the Daesang that the Golden Disk Awards that year (laughs).”
-How did your scandal with actress Kim Yunsuh come about?
“It really doesn’t make any sense. If there is someone I really like, I’m usually very straight forward about it. My father who never calls me about work-related things was so shocked that he called me right away. He asked why I didn’t tell him ahead of time (laughs).”
-Then why do you think the rumors started?
“We filmed maybe three scenes together for ‘Poseidon‘. And there was a time when we went to go cheer on Park Sung Gwang hyung for his new musical along with Lee Sung Jae, and some other actors. We took a photo there together with everyone in it, but the photos were edited to look like we took the photo alone. I think maybe that’s why the rumors began.”
-It must have been hard for you to lose both your grandmothers in the past year.
“Yeah, I lost both my grandmothers in one year. I lost my grandmother on my father’s side in July, and my grandmother on my mother’s side on the 6th. This award ceremony was a little harder because it took place so soon after she passed away. I miss her even more today.”
-What will happen to you guys once Leeteuk enlists in the military?
“There are a lot of different routes that we can take, but I think we will mostly promote as various units.”
-You have the most followers on Twitter, surpassing Lee Wae Soo.
“Yeah, that happened towards the end of last year. I think with 1,100,000 followers, I surpassed senior Lee Wae Soo. Right now I have about 1,300,000 and I hope to surpass 3,000,000 by the end of this year. And I hope that collectively, we will have over 10,000,000 followers as a group.”

▶Yesung

-Watching your performance tonight, it seems like you have the most Japanese fans within Super Junior.
“I’m embarrassed. The other members are really popular too. But it seems like my looks appeal to them the most (laughs).”
-Why do you think that is?
“They like they eyes without the double eyelid. Just kidding (laughs). I think it’s because of our ballad unit, K.R.Y. I think because we seem more familiar to them, they like us a little better.”
-You’re known as the best vocals of the group.
“I can’t say that myself, it will seem like I’m bragging! I sang a lot in our song “Sorry Sorry”, but they seem to remember me more for my ‘Cinderella‘ soundtrack, “It Has To Be You“.
-You came out on top twice on ‘Immortal Song 2′.
“When I went out by myself, I made a promise with the other members that I would. I was glad I could keep that promise. If I ever get the chance, I’d like to be on the show again.”
-We are looking forward to your World Tour, ‘Super Show 4′ at the Tokyo Dome.
“Me too. We will perform at the Tokyo Dome for two days on May 12th & 13th. There is a lot to prepare before then.”

▶Eunhyuk

-Your dance performance tonight was amazing.
“It’s a high level dance called Freeze. While I was rehearsing, my arms couldn’t carry the weight of my body, so I fell a lot. I had to consistently work out.”
-Did you guys gather in Leeteuk’s room after your performance like always?
“Of course. We have this habit of gathering in his room after all of our overseas performances. Nothing special, we just like to tell teach other that we all worked hard and plan for the future.”
-What did you guys decide today?
“We made a promise to one another. We pinky-promised that we would promote as Super Junior 20-30 years from now.”
-You can’t seem to tolerate alcohol very well.
“That’s why I am cheering with my carbonated beverage. The ones that drink the best are Siwon,Shindong, Ryewook, and others, and the ones that can’t even handle a single drink are me and Donghae. We still know how to have a good time being sober though (laughs).”
-You were recently selected as the ugliest member of Super Junior…
“Who told you that (laughs)? They only say that because it’s simply not true. I know I’m not the best looking, but I think there are at least three behind me (laughs).”
Eunhyuk shared a photo of himself from the ceremony on his Twitter page that night writing, “Mom I’m the champion!”, causing his fans who saw it to explode in laughter. It must be true that he knows how to have a good time, even without drinking.

▶Donghae

-How do you feel about winning the awards tonight?
“I don’t need to tell you how happy we are, that’s obvious, but I really missed my father tonight. He passed away, but I thought about how happy and proud he must have been for me.”
-We hear that of all the members, you have the widest circle of friends.
“No way, Heechul hyung who is currently in the military has the widest circle of friends. I know a few people that he introduced me to (laughs).”
-We hear that you are the most popular amongst the female fans.
“That hasn’t been proven. I don’t think I’m that popular when it comes to girls.”
-What was it like to be on ‘Match’?
“There were a few people that chose me, but I didn’t become an actual couple with anyone. We filmed the entire day, but choosing someone within that short amount of time was difficult.”
-Any last words on what the award ceremony meant for you?
“That’s something the leader should answer… first of all, I’m just glad that Super Junior has been widely acknowledged in Korea as well as overseas, and I’m so glad that the members trust one another and have been together for this long. We hope to see IlganSports at the Golden Disk Awards next year as well.”

Super Junior’s Siwon tries to commit suicide because of Donghae

Super Junior’s Siwon almost jumped out of the window from a high building because of Donghae! Why? Continue reading! Siwon and Donghae, along with Taiwanese actresses Ivy Chen and Bianca Bai recently participated in an interview for currently airing Taiwanese drama ‘Skip Beat‘.

During the interview, the four stars played a game in which they tried to identify Asian female celebrities by looking at their bodies, and member Donghae proved superior in this game. Looks like someone’s been checking out a lot of female celebrities. The interviewer also asked Ivy Chen and Bianca Bai who their ideal type was and they both chose Donghae. Jealous and bitter, Siwon stood up and walked towards the window as if he was going to commit suicide.
